Welcome to the Sunriver Stables

For your photo op we recommend facing east and capturing Paulina Peak, part of the Newberry Volcanic Monument. The summit of Paulina Peak with an elevation of 7,984 feet, is the highest point on the Newberry Volcano. To accent your photo in the forefront, if you wait for the right time, there may be coyotes in the pasture hunting or horses out grazing.

The Sunriver Stables are a popular attraction for guests looking for an outdoor adventure. Horses remain an important part of the Resort’s story with over 50 years of family traditions and the Resort’s close connection to nature. The stables offers trail and pony rides starting in the spring and going through fall. In the winter months you can enjoy sleigh rides in the snow.

Kristina Howell - owner of Sunriver Trail Rides - began taking riding lessons when she was eight years old and started competing at age 13. She won over ten awards including the American Paint Horse Association Youth World Champion, National Snaffle Bit Association World Champion and American Quarter Horse Association Limited Youth Champion.“It’s so fun to circle back to the place I was born and grew up, now providing other people with the same experiences,” Kristina excitedly explains.
